The Housing Authority of the City of Americus serves Americus, Georgia, and other cities in the Sumter County, Georgia area.  We are located in southwest Georgia approximately 45 miles north of Albany, 65 miles southeast of Columbus, and 65 miles southwest of Macon.

The Housing Authority of Americus was established in August, 1946.  Since that time we have provided housing for low and moderate income families in Americus, Andersonville, Leslie, Plains, and the unincorporated areas of Sumter Co.

The Housing Authority of Americus (HAA) is committed to providing quality, safe, and affordable housing to eligible families in an efficient, ethical, non-discriminatory and professional manner.  We will also partner with our residents and others to enhance the quality of life in our communities.  The HAA is committed to excellence in order to accomplish this mission.

The Housing Authority is a quasi-governmental organization established under the laws of the State of Georgia, as authorized by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Americus.  We have a six member board of Commissioners.  They are:
