The Housing Authority of the City of Americus was established in August, 1946. Since that time it has provided housing to low and moderate income families in Americus, Andersonville, Leslie, and Plains.
Our Mission
The Housing Authority of the City of Americus (HAA) is committed to providing quality, safe, and affordable housing to eligible families in an efficient, ethical, non-discriminatory and professional manner. We will also partner with our residents and others to enhance the quality of life in our communities. The HAA is committed to excellence in order to accomplish this mission.

The Housing Authority is a quasi-governmental organization established under the laws
of the State of Georgia as authorized by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Americus. We have a six member board of Commissioners. They are:
